About Me

A business professional and business owner currently employed in the banking industry cleaning dirty data and managing process improvement projects. Sounds boring, right? But hey, it pays the bills and there's money leftover at the end of the month!

I spend a lot of my spare time in the outdoors, hiking and camping, meeting new people and sharing experiences while creating new ones. I enjoy good food, eat as close to the source as possible, am known to be a "home chef" and like pairing wines with the food I eat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is great and wonderful way to meet people and travel the world! I joined Couchsurfing several years ago but only recently started to use the sight. I am a long-time couchsurfer (before this sight was created) having spent many nights on others' couches as I traveled throughout the USA, and Europe and SE Asia, especially during my days as a sound engineer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up as a musician learning to play the trumpet - classically trained - and like almost all genres of music. My go-to is jazz and rock, although my collection covers everything from Alice in Chains to Zap Mama. My favorite movies are the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns, anything Bond (mostly the early years) and late-night B-movies. The last book I read end-to-end was Think and Grow Rich and I am currently reading The Art of War.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking and camping in the crater of Haleakala Volcano on Maui in August during the Perseid meteor shower.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning and sharing. I live by the credo that knowledge is wasted if not shared. What else are we going to do with it?

What I Can Share with Hosts

A clean, safe place to rest and refresh in the Balcony of Southern California. Close to downtown LA, Hollywood, the beaches and the mountains. A nice warm, home cooked meal and quite possibly the best damn BBQ ribs you ever tasted!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, Germany, Laos, Mexico, Netherlands, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
