About Me

ABOUT ME

It's difficult to write about me, but try to imagine a physicist. Not Sheldon, please. Maybe a bit like Einstein, but not as brilliant. But as chaotic ;) That sort of person. I always want to know, why something is happening or what is the reason for it, e. g. the nuclear fission or trivial things like a car engine. Currently, I'm working as an engineer. Some things I helped creating are now rolling around on Mars - if you can believe it. Next to being a science buff, I am a rather sporty and open-minded guy who likes to be outside. Beside that, I like to laugh, to discuss and to cook/bake. Fun fact: I don't drink alcohol

PHILOSOPHY

Persons saying "It can't be done" should stop annoying people doing it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a newbie, so ask me later ;)

Interests

Sport in general. I'm practicing Martial arts for more than 15 years now and do social dancing almost the same time. Currently, I'm learning Tango Argentino. But I'm also hiking a lot, go swimming and do everything fun (like a Zero-G-Flight or snow kiting).

I'm into books, politics and, most of all, science. I'm curios by nature.

Music, Movies, and Books

One book I would really recommend is either Alexander von Humboldt "Views of Nature" or Randall Munroe "What if?" / "How To?". The former is a masterpiece of writing about nature, art and science, and it really opens your eyes about the impact humankind has on nature. The latter is something only a physicist can write, absolutely hilarious, but dead-serious on the same time, e.g. when he writes about, how long it would take to travel from the moon to earth on a firemen's-pole.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I tried Para gliding once and it was amazing. Also jumped from a dam in Switzerland, 200m straight down. Next thing is skydiving. I also did a Zero-G-Flight - mind-blowing.
