About Me

When I left my hometown in 2002 in order to spend a year in Sweden, I went by my grand-parents to say goodbye-until-next-time. I got the traditional apple juice and a dry biscuit and we had a simple talk like we usually had in their kitchen. There was nothing ceremonious in this last meeting, my grand-father offered to give me some money to travel which I refused but he put the small amount of money he had for me in my pocket and said something like " it´s not a lot but it´s for something nice". I kissed them goodbye, before stepping out of the house my grand-mother hold me back by the elbow and looking at me with her small eyes behind her huge glasses she said: "Stay who you are". a short silence and she smiled at me and she said like she usually did in her strong alsasich/german accent "you understand, you understand!?". 18 years old, I couldn´t take the seriousness of the situation so I laughed and said of course, of course. We smiled at each other and I left.

20 years have passed now and her words are mystically coming back to me once in a while. "Stay who you are".

I am a volontary french immigrant in the danish society since 2003. I am based in Copenhagen to work as a dancer. I appreciate it, I like my job, I like the city, I like the people, sometimes the weather. I guess living in a country I didn´t get raised in will always makes me ask myself " who am I really" and I find it a terrible and beautiful drive.

In my quest to get answers Couchsurfing is a wonderful help. Meeting people is sometimes like getting a present and most of the time includes surprise. They put your mind upside down and down and up, while you are trying to understand which direction gravity is pulling you in. It´s wonderful, changes are scary and the new opinions of strangers do change the way I see the world.

I like to have visitors, to hear and share their stories. In general I am a listener with opinions. I am this kind of person who stick with the people he/she likes, so if I like you I might want to stick around and learn more about you, don´t be scared, I also practice how to let go!
I also love my lonely life, finding a bar alone or watch a movie alone can make my day as much as her last kiss.
It happened several times that I hosted or got hosted longer than I expected I could manage. Only the moment can tell, the now tells.

I believe to be social (not necessarly being good at it) is an under estimated quality in our time; it is anyway, I think, very good to practice it and I think Couchsurfing is an amazing tool for it.

I worked as a freelancer in Europe and now I am studying physiotherapy. I used to use Couchsurfing while abroad for work. I enjoyed it a lot, it gave me some mindspace from work. A very nice moment to exchange would often happen right then.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I use Couchsurfing as a way to come in contact with people of my own interests at a given time. Sometimes for hanging out, sometimes for hosting or being hosted.
I love the concept of Couchsurfing. For me it is natural to open my door to visitors, also I understand if for some people it is not. At my parents our main door was always open.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

France, Netherlands, Denmark,

England, New Castle
My latest experience is meeting a part of the community in Newcastle with John, Chian and Juliana. It was excellent. I felt so welcome and I have been introduced to even more people each time. As simply as it was I had a great great time sharing those moments with them..
It was my first full couchsurfing trip where I planned to surf different couches. It was interesting to experience the communication with different potential hosts, yess and nos and finally everything went at his best.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC

I am very open for different kinds of music. From electronic, to rock and hip-hop, jazz and classical music.

My favorite musicl artist for the last 2 years is Ben Howard. I went to see him in Somersault in Devon in England in 2014 and saw him perform in Copenhagen the same year.

In 2013 I went to Coldplay´s concert - I can´t hide I felt in love with it at that time, a huge amazing concert in Den Haag, the Netherlands.

BOOKS

I don´t read as much as I wish I would do. Last year I have been eating some of Murakami´s book, which I absolutely loved. My favorite of him is the gathering of small stories called " the Elephant vanishes".

MOVIES

Movies are inpiring and a great way of sharing ideas and emotions.
If you don´t know the following I would recomend them to you.
"Ashes & Snow"
"Up" from Pixar
"Rize" David Lachapelle
"the City of Lost Children"
"the Big Blue" and "Leon" from Luc Besson
I am currently fascinated by the actor Joaquim Pheonix for some of his roles in "Gladiator", "the Village", "Johnny Cash" or more recently "the Master".

We´ll be sharing my spacious and cosy room, I have a madrass for two persons.
Usually it is not a problem but I expect you to have a sense of respect towards each other´s space and need for time on our own. At least to have a sense of making clear appointements, when we expect to hang out or not.
