About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world and experience it from every angle.

ABOUT ME

I love travel, adventure and a good challenge. This is convenient as these passions can easily overlap. A few summers ago I hiked the Appalachian Trail, where I was given my name Pit Stop. I was awarded this for my propensity to stop and "smell the roses." I don't care that I'm already walking 20 miles a day...I'm going to take that side trail to the waterfall, or even better, the pizza buffet. I currently live in Chicago, running a group of about a thousand US soccer supporters and trying to get my own business off the ground. Always planning the next adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe first and foremost in making the world a better place. As far as my philosophy for my personal life, it's to constantly explore and grow. Always be appreciative with what you have, but never be satisfied with what you've done so far. Keep pushing yourself and never put your passions on the backburner. Work to live, not the other way around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfed and hosted a few times. Not sure which I like more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a veteran of the unofficial Couch Surfing life and increasingly so in the official CS life. I have had nothing but awesome experiences through this community. I absolutely love how easy it is to meet new, amazing people and briefly join them for a foray into their lives. I look forward to many more Surfs and Hosts.

Interests

My main interest is to keep finding more interests that I never knew existed before. To go through a top-of-my-head list: Reading, athletics, soccer, beer, whiskey, movies, music, America, the outdoors, wildlife, photography, exploration, hiking, biking, running, riding, movement of all fashions, horses, bears, dogs, building fires, meeting new people, learning, competition, experiencing life

Music, Movies, and Books

My movie interests are broad and a watch a ton of them (thanks in large part to a monthly unlimited movies pass my girlfriend and I own). My music range is even broader, but Zeppelin always reigns supreme. I go to Bonnaroo yearly and other festivals when I can. I don't have the time to read books for pleasure anymore, they tend to all be historical items for research for my business.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the most amazing thing so far has been going down to Brazil for the World Cup in 2014.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been in 47 states so I have a lot to share about this country. I also can impart knowledge about how to travel quickly and lightly with nothing but a pack. I would love to learn anything cool you can teach me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whatever's needed. I'm a big believer in pitching in while you're surfing.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Scotland
