About Me
Currently on a sabbattical leave from work and travelling on a motorcycle... Been travelling through the americas since April 2016 and still headed south :)
I am an open minded and easy going person and like to meet people from all over the world. Even though with many of them you can't stay in touch I really appreciate to share and enjoy the moment.
I am a respectful person and take responsibility for my actions like cleaning up after myself and paying for things I break. I don't take things for granted.
If you have pets I'm totally ok with it as I grew up with all kind of animals, I like them and they usually like me too :)
I like to be silly but I can also have serious discussions, it depends on the situation and usually I find the right balance.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I hope to find great people on couchsurfing to share a good moment. Travelling is about the people, not about sightseeing!
Interests
Motorcycling, travelling, meeting people, movies, sometimes reading, IT stuff and sports (especially tennis). Unfortunately tennis is not a very travel compatible sports, I will really miss to play.
Even though I am somewhat afraid of heights I enjoyed paragliding a lot.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a bit of everything, mostly depending on my mood. I really like eclectic singer songwriter music though. On a night out I do like electronic house music. Don't fancy hip hop or metal kind of music.
I like all kind of movies, escpecially science fiction, adventure and suspense. I like comedy too, dry humor like two and a half man, how I met your mother or the movie Oscar from 91.... Movies with a real unexpected twist are great (like Unknown Identity or The Others)!
Right now two favorites come to mind: Steve Pavlina's "Personal Development for Smart People" and "Open" by Andre Agassi. The first being a book I grab once in a while to browse through and find a smart piece of thought. The latter being probably one of the most entertaining biographies I've ever read!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being carried out by low tide on my first windsurfing lesson, totally frozen limbs and out of energy, rescueing myself on a lonely fisherboat. My travel companion engaged in a self conducted search and rescue mission to get me out of there. So maybe his part was better qualified as amazing.
I also survived a paragliding crash landing in the forest, which was pretty scary and amazing at the same time. 😇
And of course travelling is always an amazing thing to do!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share whatever I know, some of it I could teach as well.
There's a lot I want to learn, even though I don't always know what it will be. There's always something to learn from every person and every situation in life, so I'm considering myself a lifetime student until I will pass away.
On my trip I want to learn more about digital photography, mostly self taught (reading about) but I'm happily taking advice on the subject.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Besides sharing stories, a drink or a meal...
I have been working in IT for a long time, so I'm happy to help with your tech troubles.
If you need a hand with anything else let me know, I'll do my best to help, but don't expect me to knit a pair of socks...😄
