What I Can Share with Hosts
The Slow Tour dei Sapori Campestri extends in the southeast of Palermo metropolitan area, including three Natural Reserves of great geological and naturalistic interest, as well as an historical, archaeological and iconographic heritage of inestimable value.
The main feature of the itineraries is well represented by the concept of variety:
Historical-cultural variety: from the Arab fortifications overlooking the Eleutero valley, to the picturesque villages on the hills of rural estate, the cultural influences of the Albanian community and the many archaeological testimonies.
Naturalistic-environmental variety: from the striking views which stretch, in a single glance, from the Gulf of Palermo to the headland of Cefalù, to the fascinating cavities of the Oriented Natural Reserves, as well as the golden wheat fields in the inner valleys.
Food and wine variety: from the fresh fish and seafood specialties, citrus fruits and fine wine of the coastside, to the excellent productions of extra virgin olive oil, cheeses, pastries, fruit and vegetables of the hillside.
