Overview
About Me
after six years of Berlin working in a software startup, I've quit my job and returned to the humble life of the student and dilettante in my native Stockholm, with multiple planned stints in Gothenburg. I'm talkative, sometimes to a fault, argumentative to a definite fault, interested in dipping my toes in the widest variety of subjects, and curious about the way the world works.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
signed up in boston in 2010 on a whim, had a great time, met bunches of people at meetups, hosted a bunch of people at my place in Berlin, and now when I’m travelling or spending time in Gothenburg, would love to meet up

Music, Movies, and Books
try to read pretty broadly, currently trying to work my way through tolstoy (with many breaks).
i like a lot of different music, but i guess a lot of it is alternative, trip hop, certain subgenres of hip hop i can’t name but imagine probably have a name, etc
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
decided on about 2 weeks notice to pack up my things and move to berlin, joined a freshly minted startup then stayed at that company for six years - doing tons of different jobs... one morning got up in my monkey suit to walk around prenzlauer berg handing roses to kids, there’s a story; once nearly got stabbed by a crazy lady at the belgian beer bar: another time ran into an actual stab victim in rome, helped get the cops, then by total coincidence ran into him later, got a beer out of it
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to pick up tidbits from people as I go about, and some of the stuff people say to me sticks. I tutor reluctant friends on technology, programming, cryptography, and try to be helpful when I give writing advice. I also have _so many_ "etymology fun facts" to dish out – for example, do you know the origin of the word "logbook", or how the English word "average" and the Swedish / German word "haveri" are cognate? What's the relationship between "interdit" in French and "untersagt" in German?
What I Can Share with Hosts
my cooking is not legendary (though my scrambled eggs are), but I'm keen on it and happy to whip up a signature dish for any hosts and any amount of their friends
