ABOUT ME

I am definitely a positive person, not irritatingly so, but positive all the same. Life is great and I enjoy making the most of it. I find it sad that there are so many out there that forget how to enjoy it. I love late night philosophising over a drink or two and can talk all night if given the opportunity. (I do love my sleep too though)
I love travelling although I am very new to it. I am a student balloon pilot, but I have been for 12 years so I guess it doesn't mean much yet. :o) I can dance, or I can follow someone else's lead very well anyway, and I love to do so.
My friends tell me I have a unique sense of humour which really just means they roll their eyes whenever I tell a joke. (they still laugh though so it can't be too bad). I would love to write a book one day, but I have to get over my exceptional ability to procrasinate first. I would say that I am rather quirky. for example, I don't eat vegetables (except potatoes). I'm very laid back and like to just go with the flow. I have a great memory and have a whole store of random and useless facts in my head.
Another quirk of mine is one that I will only share if you express an interest first because I know it is not everyone's cup of tea and I'm used to being alone in this interest. Musical theatre. I know some of you have stopped reading now, but I promise I won't mention it again unless you like it too. :D

PHILOSOPHY

Life is wonderful and I want to experience it as much as possible. Nothing in my life will ever be so dire that I am truly without hope, possibility or support. And with that in mind, how could I NOT take a chance and jump in with both feet?

Interests

Music Movies and Books hold a lot of interst for me, but you can read more about that in the section. Swing Dancing is something I love and have been doing for a few years. I love to knit. (as embarrassing as that may be!). Photography is also becoming a passion again after many years of neglect.

Music, Movies, and Books

Jazz/blues/lounge are what I listen to most, but I love 60's and 70's pop/rock, 80's pop and mainstrem top 40 as well as folk, classical etc. I can't listen to heavy or hard core music, and dance music I generally only listen to if I am out dancing. (I think I may be a closet country music liker, but you didn't hear that from me) i'm a big fan of ballads and other songs that have great emotion (although I am definitely not an emotional person myself).
Fav movie ever is "harvey" with james stewart, but more recently, Infamous, Pirates of the Caribbean, little miss sunshine, motorcycle diaries, sin city, brokeback mountain, mulholland drive, life is beautiful, kiss kiss bang bang, kenny (awesome aussie movie!!!!), 3 burials... etc etc. there's hundreds more.
As for books, I love biographies, and not just of famous people, I'm a big crime fiction fan and Dick Francis is my favourite, although more recently I have loved reading the Falco series by Lindsey Davis and set in ancient rome. I also like Jasper Fforde and books that either make me think or make me feel for the characters. (I dislike romance novels a great deal though) :o)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have abseiled (or maybe repelled is more accurate) out of a hot air balloon. The balloon was tethered to the ground so it had a maximum height of about 80feet, so don't worry, the end of the rope was still touching the ground! :o)

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I will have to think about this a bit longer and get back to you all. Off the top of my head, I would be more than happy to teach anyone how to knit, although somehow I think I won't get too many takers. :o) I am an amateur photographer and always happy to share tips and advice in either direction. I could probably also teach some basic swing dance steps to guys or girls, but only so long as you don't expect me to be good at it. :o)
