ABOUT ME

**Despite what it says, I am not in Dallas, TX (Or anywhere else not in China) right now— I just use VPN to access the internet**I've come to realize that I like a good adventure. When one comes along, I'm not afraid to set by one by myself, because I'm confident that I'll always meet fun and interesting people.I love reading- at least a book a week! I also love a good, stimulating conversation, but I hesistate to call myself an intellectual because one risks sounding pretentious...haha!

PHILOSOPHY

Our Time is the most precious thing that we have during our lifetimes. How one chooses to spend his/her time on this planet is a better measure of one's relative greatness than the amount of Power or Wealth one can accumulate. That said, I don't believe in the cliches that one should "live everyday like it was their last" or "love every minute of life." Instead, one must sometimes engage in activities that are unenjoyable or put themselves in situations that are uncomfortable— things one certainly can't do if they intend to "love every minute of life". For me, pleasure can be derived from purpose and meaning. However, many times activities that are purposeful and meaningful are not, in and of themselves, pleasurable. Yet, one must persevere in their current tasks without regard to immediate pleasure, with the faith that individual pleasure will come once purpose and meaning have been established.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had much yet! When I was living/travelling in the Middle East, I couch surfed a bit, but always used friends' accounts. Always met great people!

When I moved to China, I decided to take the plunge myself and made an account. So far, I've lived in Zhong Guo a little over two months, and have only hosted once. Definitely want to keep meeting more people!
