I'm a single mom with grown children, an elementary art teacher and finish my first extended roadtrip to find my artistic mojo. I did and more as my life will never be the same. With every holiday, I plan another adventure and host between.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can host two comfortably in my studio/livingroom. If you want some direction on where to go for fun, I can help or guide as I get out often. Dallas is easy to reach by car or Trinity rail.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The summer of 08 my daughter & I stayed with a malay family in Singapore for an entire month. She, Marie said someday I could repay forward...last spring stayed on a Corpus Christi couch while learning to kayak (3days).Spent two months this summer couchsurfing my way around the perimeter of U.S.

Interests

At the moment, it's digital photography but anything in the arts is interesting to me. Learning a new skill is a real thrill like the ocean kayaking trip. I would love to learn to surf, windsurf, snowboard or rafting down a river. Learning to play a guitar and getting ready for a duet with friend Mark.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love classic films, music, well I still love the Beatles and the Rocks...last books have all been nonfiction...art tech books and photography books. At the moment..reading...solitude Seeking Wisdom in Extremes by Robert Kull, Muir, Nature Writings and The Wilderness World of John Muir edited by Edwin Way Teale. Bought my first acoustic guitar...learning to play.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raised six wonderful children and seven grandchildren while teaching thousands of other children. I hope to have made a positive difference in their lives, I know they did in mine.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've lived an interesting life with some interesting stories about living in Louisiana. I can make a decent gumbo and a kickin' shrimp dish. I'm fun loving, easy to get along with and always creative.
