About Me

Hi. I like to think of myself as a simple guy, but then I guess my ex would disagree. I'm rather calm and laid back but I like adventures, and the element of surprise in life. And exploring things - the feeling of discovery gives me an addictive high.

Share with me a piece of music from your place. Share a story. Your grandma's favourite recipe. Or a glass of wine/beer/any other alcoholic drink of your choice. This usually sets the tone for a nice conversation :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CS gives you an opportunity to interact with a variety of often very different but in a way like-minded people - many of us share common values and probably all of us love to travel. Being on here makes my life more interesting :)
At the same time CS simply makes travelling easier and more fun - you are able to experience different cultures first-hand by meeting locals. On a more profound level I think CS helps develop an instinct (or however you want to call it) to share and care about others.

Interests

World is quite amazing, and I like to explore it. Travelling, listening to people's stories, and marvelling at the beauty of nature - these are pretty good ways to spend your time IMO.

Other specific activities/interests include: playing tennis (started as a kid - stayed with me), playing other sports (will elaborate when we meet), going to the local cinema, going to concerts in small venues (jazz, classical mostly), being outdoors, anthropology (kinda - not an expert but boy, it is exciting!), photography.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - from Beethoven, Paganini, Stravinsky and others, through late 60's-70's rock, Bowie, The Talking Heads, to Britpop, everything Jack White, some electronic, some ethnic. I enjoy jazz concerts!

Movies - eh, long topic... let's talk over beer. quite a large spectrum though I suppose, so there'll be a few that we both like for sure

Books - I mostly read travel/reportage books (Balkan Ghosts: A Journey Through History is one I really enjoyed) and some popular authors. Recently read a couple by Bukowski and Tyrmand (polish author) and liked them a lot :) - ok, that was a while ago. just started reading Sapiens (stopped. didn't like it - we can discuss!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in India was a life-changing experience.
Feeding hyenas in Harare was pretty awesome too.

Teach, Learn, Share

Not sure if I'd be a good teacher, but I can share with you my stories, thoughts, whatever knowledge I have

If you're really into it I can try to teach you how to hit a tennis ball, play pool, or play some board games. I may try to cook for you, but better keep your expectations low! Polish isn't easy, but we can practice the pronunciation of "cześć".

On the other hand, if you'd like to teach me how to take really good photos, it would be awesome!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will share my stories, if you want to hear them, and I will share my food, if you want to eat it :)
