Overview
About Me
Hi,
I'm from a small village in the English countryside but I recently moved to Vancouver and am planning to stay long term. I love to experience different ways of life and learn different ways of doing things. I enjoy being in the outdoors, exploring, hiking, and generally being active. At the same time I am also perfectly happy to take it easy, relax in a beer garden, or try new cuisine of any kind (really, I'm not fussy).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to really experience each destination when I travel, and that can sometimes be difficult when staying in a hotel or hostel as most of the people around you do not know the area. I like to hang out with locals and immerse myself in the culture of each place I go. Couch surfing offers a perfect opportunity to spend time with someone who really knows the area and can recommend the best attractions and restaurants.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is such a hard question! I like all sorts of music; indie, country, folk. I usually go for more acoustic, melodic stuff, but I can appreciate most genres of music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one?! My go to thing would be the time I spent trekking in the Himalayas. But I guess finally finishing my PhD felt like a big achievement. Travelling the world solo for 6 months is also high up on the list of amazing things I've done.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my travel experiences and anything else you want to know about my life so far. I guess I could help out with English language too, particularly if you aspire to speak like a BBC news reporter...
What I Can Share with Hosts
Experiences and fun. If you happen to have an interest in biology I can share what I know with you.
