Overview
About Me
Hi, I'm Rachael, a Vietnamese longing to become the world's citizen.
I love to explore the new culture and new horizons. For me, travel is a life lesson that teaches me to treasure what I am grateful to have, and nurture the love for other people and mother nature. Currently I am working as a freelance English tutor. Check out my FB Facebook.com/rachaelnguyenvn to learn more about me.
I am very excited to get a chance to connect to you somewhere on the road!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Traveling can't be fullfilled if there're no mutual exchange in terms of culture and friendship. So I always try to connect to locals wherever I go. That's how I learn the interesting sides of authentic lifestyle, as well as meet awesome people who are like-minded and exchange lots of great stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading novels. I have read some novels originated from Vietnam, England, America, Japan and so on.
My favorite singers are (absolutely): My Tam and Lady Gaga
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Live fully who I am every day!
Accomplished Phanxipăng - the highest mountain of Vientnam within a day under the heavy rain (I am afraid of height, snakes and cannot stand cold weather, but I did it yay!).
Travel solo with very little budget to Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia since the age of 19 (there was a time I was starving because I didn't have much cash with me as traveling in Malaysia, I ended up going to the Sikh temple for free food haha).
Teach, Learn, Share
Honestly, I rarely cook, but I know some Vietnamese food recipe, I can show you ;).
Giving sweets to children does bring me happiness. If you want some, I can give you, too!
I can sing if the lyrics are available.
Last but not least, if you need someone to listen to your sharing, I'm all ears :).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I do love to share about Vietnamese culture in general from my perspective. I am sure that there are many features of the country that I have no idea of, but I will try my best to describe our beautiful country to you. If my smile, energy, and craziness are something to offer, I will not hesitate to share them with you.
