Though not too far or wide, there's a little explorer scratching at the surface. I moved a lot as a child and was always the new kid, having gone to 3 schools before I was 9, from London to finally settling in the English countryside. Once 18, I ran as fast as I could, attending Uni and starting my career in London before spending 5 years in NYC then coming back in 2018. I'd take trips as often as I could, though looking back, I'm a little impulsive and love a last minute travelling plan.

My maternal ancestors also had itchy feet and my heritage is a jumbled mix of European, Middle Eastern and South Asian. Though in 2021 did something I thought I'd never do - leave the city life behind and move back to Kent. My spare time is spent sampling the local wine, craft beer, and growing food scene.

Work wise, I worked in bars and restaurants throughout High School and Uni, before a few years in customer service at a bank then falling into recruitment where I've been for the last 10+ years. Though on the face of it it's not the most interesting career choice, it is a great way of meeting people and I've worked with some great companies, making friends along the way. And through work, I still get my city kick by going into London a few times per month.

Now with a family of my own, my travelling may be less frequent but I'm determined to keep the exploring gene alive, whether with the kids tagging along or running away from them as fast as I can....

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Through friends, I've been a couch surfing lurker for years but I've finally officially joined the community and am excited for the many future adventures!

In 2023, I left my job and decided to take a few months off. The first thing I did was tell my friend who is travelling, and now I'm on a last min adventure (I told you it's a theme!), joining him on his stops in Israel and Palestine.
