About Me

ABOUT ME

I love nature and the natural environment and work for an environmental non-government organisation. Friends and family are very important to me and I enjoy sharing time, hanging out with both. I enjoy time on my own as well. I lived on a yacht for many years, have 2 adult sons, have owned and run my own business, and am now living in my own home which was designed to let the outside in and to enjoy the surrounding rainforest and wildlife.I think I am fairly easy to get along with though I do appreciate it when people are respectful, thoughtful and considerate.... I am a Piscaterian ( fish-eating vegetarian)

Update: I am recently diagnosed with cancer. The journey is just beginning and I can't be sure of where or when it will finish. I have some great journey mates and if you think you might want to come along for the ride for a short time then I may still be able to host. However, there may be some foot stomping and pouting.. or more ...depending on where I'm at! My hosting skills will no doubt be different from before- with different stories to tell- but rest assured there is only healthy food going on in this house atm! And I'm looking for humour and to have some fun along the way.

PHILOSOPHY

Do unto others what you would have them do unto you. Evil happens when good people do nothing. Be thoughtful, considerate, kind and well-mannered.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been a host four times, and I've enjoyed the experience of meeting new people with different ideas and life stories.

One CSFer Alison -left a refernce saying I hadnt bothered to contact her- even tho I explained to her there was a misudnerstanding with the communications. She then deleted her profile after returning home. I dont think that is in good spirit and left a really bad taste in my mouth as I had gone out of my way for her.

Interests

Environmentalism. Walking and hiking, swimming and camping. Reading, drinking coffee at cafe , playing board and card games, yakking, good food and wine, visiting friends, travel, (overseas, interstate, anywhere new). music and festivals.

Music, Movies, and Books

So many - will have to copy and paste from Facebook. Am reading 'Careless' at moment, LOVE the Gotye song ( Someone that I used to know) and the cover by Walk off the Earth and Sarah Blackwood. Recently watched Mad Bastards. Of course love The Castle (once I got over the cringe factor). . UPDATE: Just finished reading The Time Travellers Wife.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few in my life... but a recent one is to travel to Kimberley (W.A.) to watch the story of a young Aboriginal "freedom fighter" from the 19th century being played on his country at Windjana Gorge and to meet and stay with the Protectors/Protestors at the LNG Gas Hub campaign at Minari Road and James Price Point ( Walmadan) - Kimberley.
