Overview
About Me
Hi, I'm Raiyan. I came to the states to study seven years ago, and have been working at a robotics company after graduation for the last three years.
I'm hoping to get a master's degree in Canada next year, and want to do a year of travelling before I go back to study. Later this year, I'm going to spend 12 weeks backpacking Europe.
I've done a cross country Amtrak (for free; ask me about travel hacking :)) last year, and I love hiking and anything outdoors. My biggest accomplishment is skydiving despite having a crippling fear of heights. Bungee jumping is next on the list.
I am learning to play the piano, and have a personal trainer who is teaching me to develop sustainable healthy habits for a lifetime. I love to cook, and go to cooking classes to try and learn fancy new cuisines. I don't drink or smoke.
I’ve currently training for a 10k after successfully running a 5k earlier this year. One step closer to that marathon. 🥲
I do think I'm introverted by nature but I want to step out of my comfort zone and meet people from different cultures because I truly believe that that is the best way to experience travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Interests
I love classical music, and will fanboy any violinist I meet because I adore classical music on violin.
My longest hike was 9.8 miles in Boston, MA.
I went skydiving in Baltimore, but I want to do the world's highest skydive in Monterey, CA.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach anyone Bengali if they are interested. I can also talk at length about robotics, artificial intelligence, and classical music since these are topics I am passionate about.
I would love to learn about different cultures, and different takes on how to approach life to live it to the fullest.
I believe I can share insights from my experience of solo travelling across the US. I am very well versed in credit card points systems and how to use them to travel luxuriously for free. I can also offer a perspective on southeast asian culture if anyone is curious.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking south asian cuisine; discussions related to engineering, travel, personal finance, body building, time management; dark chocolate; kindness and quiet positive vibes
