About Me

My name is RAKIB HASSAN and I am at present studying at a university of Slovenia named “The University of Nova Gorica”. I am in Slovenia to complete my Bachelor of Science in Physics and Astrophysics and my origin is from Bangladesh.

As a person, I can say that I try to be friendly and helpful to others. I am fond of meeting new people. Besides since I study Physics and my dream is to become a scientist as well as a researcher; my mind always is curious. I am particularly interested to travel to the places where I never have been, to know the things which are unknown to me and to see the things which I never have seen in my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like travelling a lot. I have a dream and that is to explore the whole world being like the Marco Polo or Ibn Battuta. I am extremely curious about travelling.

I am on Couchsurfing because Couchsurfing is the best apps for the travellers in my opinion. Sometimes we think to travel to some particular places which are very exciting but since we do not have proper idea about those places; we can not travel according to our expectations. If we can find someone local; they can help us travel in accordance with our satisfaction. On the other hand, Couchsurfing is also the best way to make new friends and to exchange cultural experiences between the two human beings from the different part of this globe. It can bring us closer to one another. As much as we shall be able to know other and respect other; our relationship between each other will get increased socially as much which is one of the prequisites to build a peaceful earth.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am from Bangladesh and when I was at the tender age; roads in most of the areas especially in the rural areas were not so developed like today. During the rainy season, it used to rain at stretch which resulted in inundating the low lying areas of the country. 90% of the total area of Bangladesh is covered with low lying plan lands and they got submerged because the of the heavy rainfall. We used to build a kind of transport during the rainy season using the steams of the banana tress and we called it “Vela”. Riding on the Vela we used to travel from one place to another and it’s an amazing experience. Today the roads are being developed and we do not have that much of rainfall as we had one decade before. So today the new generation in the country lack in this enjoyment because of the massive introduction of the technology.
