I discovered CS when I went on my first solo trip to Istanbul in 2022. As they say, the rest is history. ‐-----‐---‐--‐--‐-----------‐----‐-----‐---------‐------------------- On a mission to travel around the world, and to read all the interesting books ever written. ——————————————————————————— I'm a curious person, so I'm sure we'll have something to chat about. - Why have some currencies (like the Turkish Lira) lost most their value vs the USD over the last 5 years? And what makes the USD so special? - Favorite cities in Turkey? (If you've been) - God? Which God? Or no God? - What's next for USA, Israel & Iran (No, I have no crystal ball either, but I read up alot on the politics behind this due to my vested interest as a Bahraini). - Exercise and diet tips to gain muscle and lose fat (believe it or not, I won several trophies in a powerlifting competition, in what now seems like a lifetime ago). - Trump (love him or hate him, the guy deserves a separate line here).

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
To meet people and make friendships all over the world. Through CS, I have met some amazing people, some of whom have become friends that I have stayed in touch and met with several times.
Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I like reading popular classics (eg 1984, A Tale of Two Cities) and investment/economics/finance/banking books. I'm always reading something. Currently reading a biography of John Rockefeller, the US oil tycoon born in the 1800s and whose company then controlled almost all oil refining in the US. Movies: Watched practically every WWII movie ever. Favorite movie is probably Oppenheimer (history, science, politics, morality, and a WW in one movie. What more can you ask for?)
