About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I still want to travel to South America and to Prague and live with the local people to get some hands on experience perhaps teach them how to cook damper (outback Australian bread)

ABOUT ME

I am adventurous and love a new exciting challange. I am fun loving and enjoy dancing, music (usually latin or south american)and having a good time. I am a positive person with a sense of humour and try to find the best things in people and life. Travelling is my passion naturally. I am very interested in people from all walks of life and particularly in sharing experiences with them.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe we are here to enjoy life and make the most out of it it is important to stay positive. My fav tune is "always look on the bright side of life". I am definitely up for experiencing new exciting ventures, but also like the quiet harmony of nature and love tranquility and the feeling of peaceful surrounds. la vita è dolce

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy hosting friendly people who can share a good story and a laugh

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The best experience was in Rome last time I was there. I was not feeling very happy at the time and stayed with a host in the heart of Rome. He made me feel so welcome and comfortable. He showed me Rome at night on the back of his scooter, which was great fun and very beautiful.
Portugal is a beautiful place. I went out with a fellow couch surfer just recently to a wonderful Fado night and then to on to a bar which was a complete surprise, behind an ordinary door was an amazing eclectic display of various artefacts from all over the world. I had a traditional Portugese cherry liqueur which was delicious!
Another experience on my recent trip was sampling the Italian grappa in the Chianti region in Toscana with a fellow couch surfer. The grappa burnt all the way down, but as it was a cold night it warmed me up immediately!

Interests

Love salsa dancing, art and history. Travelling to new and exciting places and meeting different people. Dining out to sample different foods and flavours. Going out to watch live music. We have an international music festival in Adelaide called WomAD every March which I love to go to.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite movies Shaw Shank redemption. Amelie. Some foreign movies as they tend to have an "out there" script. Loved the book "The Happiest Refugee" about a person's struggle with fitting in as a Refugee in a new country also reading Royal Alcazar of Sevilla.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled aloner times overseas and met some wonderful people, that is the best way to travel!!
In the south of France I stayed in an apartment which I later found out was owned by the lithographer of Pablo Picasso. His artwork was decorating the apartment walls! Although he could only speak French (I had a friend translating) and he was extremely interesting to talk to.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think Australia is a wonderful place to live and to travel around, but you need to be travel smart whereever you go in the world. Having travelled on my own just recently through Europe, I very much enjoyed meeting wonderful people and experiencing fantastic food and places. The experiences I have had both good and not so good have made me a much stronger, positive, more determined person to enjoy life to the fullest. The trick is to never give up and keep positive with a smile on your face!
