I am non-binary. In addition to attending grad school to become a therapist, and doing work as a Restorative Practices Facilitator, I am a budding herbalist (currently here in Albuquerque, NM taking a Curanderismo course), a practitioner of ancestral wilderness skills (I really enjoy weaving baskets with cattails, making cordage from plants, plant and tree ID, and track and sign specifically). I enjoy spending time in nature, attending shows and concerts, doing karaoke, and spending time with my dear ones.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I am actually re-joining after almost a decade because I am looking for a place to stay in Albuquerque, NM while I take a Summer course at UNM, and imagine I will be using the app for other future travels, too.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite artists are the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, Jake Mckelvie and the Countertops, Xenia Rubinos, and Lady Lamb. For books, I love Undrowned, or anything else by Alexis Pauline Gumbs, Fourth Uncle in the Mountain, and Wild Folk. I mainly read self-help books and Sci-Fi/Fantasy, but am open to and have read many different books. My library takes up half of my living room back home. Movies...my favorite movie is Your Name. I love Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Princess Mononoke, too. I just saw the Wedding Banquet and Sinners, which I enjoyed both of in very different ways.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I have spent 45 minutes in a river with a Lamprey. Lampreys have been around since the dinosaurs were around, their existence is pretty incredible.
Teach, Learn, Share
In addition to English, I speak Spanish and am learning a Taino dialect called Hiwatahia right now. I facilitate workshops on emotional care, generative conflict skills, and healthy communication. I can make cordage and weave baskets from certain plants, am studying Shiatsu, and have been making plant medicine for several years. These are some things I can potentially teach and share! In my travels, I'm just looking to truly connect to the places I'm visiting, including those I meet.
What I Can Share With Hosts
Check out my teach, learn, share section! In addition to those things, so happy to support with washing dishes during my visit!
