About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world before I die, or at least a good sized chunk of it...
ABOUT ME
I was born in Dallas, Texas... but I was raised in Pine Bluff, AR. It's a picturesque southern town, that has passed its prime by a few decades... I went down to Louisiana to go to school and failed miserably at it... still am as a matter of fact, although I suppose its a blessing in disguise, because one morning I decided to read the campus newspaper with my morning coffee and cigarette and saw an article about a girl who couch surfed in south america...
I love music, and I play a plethora of instruments (I guess this is the curse of being born into a family where your parents are professional musicians) And although I was raised to be a musician, I have defied all odds and became a history major ( Woot for Charlemagne!)
And along with this I guess there is the cloud of doubt hanging about me that never seems to leave... I can only hope that the future will eventually show me what I am supposed to do in life...
PHILOSOPHY
Anger wastes time, as does sadness... I would much rather prefer to be out trying to see things and meet people than wast my life with futile feelings... in the end, its the people we meet and things we do that show what kind of person we are...

Music, Movies, and Books
I really haven't seen any movies that have struck me recently...
as for music... I've been listening to a lot of Gentle Giant lately... Jazz is always a mainstay, its like having a nice glass of port after an amazing meal... its just so right at times...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
That first rafting trip with my dad and brother was pretty amazing... We took canoes down the New River in West Virginia... I was just barely in middle school and here I was tackling the whitewater of professionals... I remember that first drop... i was navigating in front, barking directions to my dad in the rear of the canoe... and we slowly accelerated up to the submerged shelf...
we threaded sideways and found the "V" (the safe place to drop into the rapid... space between two rocks makes a V shaped current in the water) and the shelf loomed and then came faster and faster...
all of a sudden I'm out above the water... then I was down in the hole... paddling looking for an exit, Left... Right... straight through to the end of the rapid... I remember the one gigantic hole that stretched for maybe a quarter mile... I named it the "Oh Shit" Rapid... that trip taught me about what it means to be afraid... and what it means to go forward, not backwards... cause sometimes... even though going forward gets you into shit... sometimes going back is near impossible...
