About Me

Hi! My name is Becca, and I am eager to meet new people from all walks of life! I love hiking, running, writing, meditating, cooking, traveling, yoga, drawing, basically just squeezing all of the juice out of this beautiful life I've been gifted! There are so many wonderful people on the weird sphere thing we found ourselves on, and I want to explore this human consciousness with as many as I can in as many places as I'm able to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really just love people. I decided to create a membership because I am visiting Glendale, Arizona in the middle of March for an interview for graduate school, and I would love to get to know the city and some cool people in it while I'm there, especially because it could potentially be a place I call home for the next few years! Aside from that, I think the idea of getting to know folks and their journeys seems incredibly positive and exciting, especially in the context of such an open and inviting community. I really believe in the interconnectedness of everything, and this seems like a really incredible platform to meet others and learn about all the different ways a life can be lived.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all music! Lately, I've been listening to lots of techno, ambient, lofi music, but I can really bump to any and everything. Minus a few country songs, but even that genre can get my hips swinging in the right context.
I've loved dystopias and science fiction books since I was a kid, and I think they've instilled a bit of an apocalyptic mentality in me. Some of my favorite authors are Toni Morrison, Kurt Vonnegut, George Orwell, Margaret Atwood (Handmaid's Tale, but also lots some of her lesser known ones like The Heart Goes Last and The Year of the Flood). I've been reading a really cool book called How to Change Your Mind which is about psychedelic research and the nature of consciousness. I'm really open to all media, though! If it exists and it'll teach me something, I will probably enjoy it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been existing for 22 freaking years with only some slight spinal problems that got resolved when I was 12 and a couple minor existential crises that led to a much more conscious, mindful experience with the world and my place in. Still not really sure what that place is, but I feel very grateful to have one and share it with other sentient beings!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking, so I think creating a meal for hosts or making it together and sharing it would be a very pleasant and unifying thing to do. I am also very low maintenance, so any living situation is cool with me.
