Overview
About Me
I am 27 year old Software Engineer (in the making - still a student). As this is my second bachelor degree, I am trying to give it my best. While I am not at it, I engage both in passive/internal and in external/social activities.
Playing acoustic guitar (prefer fingerstyle playing style, can play/sing a thing or two :)), reading, board games and digital gaming would qualify as those "not so active" hobbies.
For the outdoorish, social things I do latino dancing (specifically salsa cubana and bachata), learn languages (most of my learning comes from hands on experience with other people as textbooks do not really work for me), rock climbing and hiking (usually my "go to" thing in a new place/country is to experience its nature by going for a hike).
Aside from these I am also interested in cooking - I regard it as an artistic process that sometimes gives yummy food and often gives good vibes :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have heard about CS for several years now. And when I was travelling to unknown place and stayed, let's say, in an Airbnb, I kept getting involved with hosts - talking, eating out, cooking together or just going for a stroll.
From what I heard from others, CS facilitates a rather similar environment/experience purposefully. So I thought "why not give it a go". Looking forward to what this brings :-)

Music, Movies, and Books
For the music it would be difficult to pinpoint a specific genre or artist - I listen to various genres across multiple languages. Depeche mode, Eminem and Scorpions are the ones that come to mind first, but they are definitely not the only ones (very, very far from it).
Currently I do not watch movies on a consistent basis. Most of the movies I have seen are based on recommendations from those around me. Usually I would just prefer a book over a movie.
Alrighty, now we are getting places. So mostly I enjoy fantasy books. By "enjoy" I mean I live by them. My favorite authors are Brandon Sanderson and Andrzej Sapkowski - respective series of Stormlight Archives, Mistborn and The Witcher. Books just give me some peaceful time, interesting insights and food for thought.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, I lived in Canary Islands for half a year. I am not sure whether that qualifies as "the amazing thing", but it was rather spontaneous decision. It was just in the beginning of the pandemic and it was a rather pleasant place to be stuck in. Pretty much a climbing and hiking paradise :-)
Also did canyoneering in Utah (Zion National Park). It was three days in a row of canyons all around. Difficult, excruciating and extremely fulfilling :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach languages if you have the interest. If you have a dusty old guitar (or new and shinny, I don't discriminate) lying in the corner, I would give it a try. Or if there is some piece of technology that refuses to cooperate, I can take a look at it and maybe good things will happen :) Oh, also can teach dancing (latino) - I mostly know only male's part, but, well, we could figure something out - at the very least it would be a fun process.
In terms of learning, I am rather curious about most things. I do not have some well planned-out trajectory in life so I will welcome an opportunity to learn something new.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Music, conversation, stories, a companion for a walk, help around the house (I am rather tall, so if you ever feel like you need a ladder - I will be right there). Essentially I want to see how people live and form connections. In return I can try to do the same by giving a piece of me (not literally).
