My name is made up from my parents names put together REmily and MAlcolm.
I love weird and creative things like handcrafted shells for pet hermit crabs and making mouldy monster sculptures from mouldy Philadelphia boxes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At first it was because I had a terrible experience moving to Rotterdam and needed somewhere to stay but I really enjoyed couch-surfing and I'd like to do it when travelling somewhere new because it's much better to arrive in a city and have someone to meet and explore with. Plus I'm pretty disorganized and I always, ALWAYS get lost and really confused so it's a safer option. I've really enjoyed meeting so many people from different cultures while I've been here and I'd like to learn more :)

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
Not really sure. Folk, funk, Disney sing-a-long songs, rock, classic rock or classical if I'm inside. Reggae, funk, electronic, dub or drum and bass if I'm out.

MOVIES
ARGH too many. I love trippy sci-fi films and psychological thrillers. I like ones that pose philosophical questions.
First favorite film was Matrix. Now I like too many. Clockwork Orange. Truman show, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. Blade runner. Groundhog day. Brazil. Fear and loathing in Las Vegas. Memento. Interstellar. Any kind of martial arts film but I love fearless. A few anime films particularly Paprika and Akira but also a few Ghibli films, my favourite is Howls moving castle.

BOOKS
My favourite genre is dystopian fiction. My favourite books from this genre would be: A brave new world, 1984, The Road and The Handmaidens Tale.
I haven't read many comics but I prefer them much prettier and quicker to read.
Would love to start reading manga. I tried to years ago when I was young but I didn't realize you read it backwards so I thought it was utter nonsense and stuck to anime.

GAMES
This should be included! Witcher 3 was an awesome new game. Dark Souls when I feel stable enough but I can't finish the 3rd one :( RPGs and also again weird trippy games so stanley parable and jazzpunk I really like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving I guess the instructor took me through a rainbow cloud :D
but I didn't like it because my ears hurt so much and
it's actually a more floaty feeling than Oh my God I'm going to die kind of feeling
so hopefully I can bungee jump sometime.
