ABOUT ME

There is not enough time or space to tell all about me... so here are the Cliff Notes version. LOL I love to meet new people (have never meet a stranger, have meet some strange people but never a stranger)!

I have been described as a "multifaceted gem" depending on the environment you meet me in will determine the side of me that you will see.

I am very open minded, and can discuss just about anything with some intelligence. I like to explore life and the world in all of it's diversity.

I have been a hairdresser, a childcare provider, a truck driver, business manager, clothing designer, a middle school science teacher, several home based business owner, a youth volunteer, a camp counselor, and been in the retail and manufacturing business' just to name a few of the "work hats" I have worn.

I am a mother and a grandmother. I am in an interracial relationship with a wonderful man.

I have traveled most of the southern states in the United States.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is basically live and let live without judgment. We all put on this earth for a time, what we do with it and who we become is totally up to us. No one will stand with us before God on judgment day but Christ. Therefor, I do not have the right to judge others nor do they have the right to judge me.

There are higher powers and forces that are in motion and there are basic universal laws that no one can deny. When one goes against those universal laws and brings harm to others then they will get back 10 fold what they put out.

As the old saying goes... what goes around comes around. As the good book says...whatever you sow, so shall you reap. I have tried to live my life by this standard. I treat others as I wish to be treated. I do not wish harm on anyone. I have seen too many times in my lifetime where those words are so true.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just recently found out about the CS Project from a friend of mine who is a member. I think it is totally AWESOME! As I read on one profile I wish it had been around when I was in my teens and early 20's because one of my life goals has been to travel to every state in the US, and then to travel the world. The thing that always stopped me was that I did not have the money to stay in hotels for my trips.

I want to be a host and a surfer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with some good friends for a week when they moved to CA. They are the ones that told me about CS. You can read our comments about each other in my references. They are the coolest people if you ever get a chance to meet them your life will surely be enriched! Needless to say it was an AWESOME CS experience!

Interests

I have a variety of interests.

Intellectual - Just about anything science related interests me. My preference is in the Earth Sciences, especially paleontology, and natural disasters. It is incredible how our earth was formed and the dynamic processes that still go on today to shape it.

Recreational - I love reading, organizing social events, hosting parties, going to the beach, camping, hiking, bike riding, exploring new areas, cultures, food. Dancing...especially swing/steppin or ballroom. Going to museums - art, cultural, historical and science of course.

Spiritual - I consider myself spiritual but non-religious. I believe in God and Jesus Christ as my savior. I believe that most religions spend to much time on condemning others instead of doing the true work that God intended.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a lot of movies, my favorite genres are: Action Adventure, Romantic Comedies, Period movies, Science Fiction... books pretty much run along the same genre's.

Music - I enjoy Motown, old school hiphop, R&B, Jazz, Big Band swing. Anything I can dance too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have ever done was be a mother. To carry a child, give birth and then to watch and mold that little being into a man was an incredible experience that nothing else can compare to.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am totally into the earth sciences.. and taught in the public school system for 6 years. I will be spending 10 weeks this summer at a NASA space center doing research. I am sure I will have some great stories to share from that experience!

I live an alternative lifestyle and have educated people about it over the past 18 years.

I enjoy sharing any knowledge I have with anyone willing to listen and learn. Just ask.

I would like to learn different languages by total immersion. I took a year of French and a year of Spanish in high school but did not like that type of learning a language.
