About Me

I originally jumped on couchsurfing in 2015 to pursue a lifelong goal; to spend at least one night in all 50 states. I accomplished my goal in 5 months on a 20,000 mile long road trip. Many nights were spend couchsurfing, a bunch in hostels, and a few in my car. But I did it!.

I'm now looking to travel to various places throughout Europe. But I won't be traveling alone this time :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why? To meet cool interesting people, I want to learn about their experiences, perspectives, and how they see and understand the world they live in. I love people and all the quirks that come with them. I'm very accepting and I try to understand before being understood.

Interests

TRAVELING!!!! :)

That's my main interest right now, my second interest and passion is helping people improve their well-being. I currently do that by coaching children and adults to swim competitively. I also help to create the opportunities children and adults need to swim competitively at the local and national level.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite band is Foo Fighters, but I do love my dance beats from Pitbull. I can jam to pretty much anything, yes, even country. I know that gets a lot of slack in different parts of the U.S. but I'm a Garth Brooks fan.

If I had to pick a genre, then I would just say music that I can dance too. I'm white, but I can dance.

Movies, Shawshank Redemption is my favorite.

For books, I've been reading a lot of the popular fiction books, like Harry Potter. But I tend to lean in the direction of self improvement in non-fiction work. The book I'm currently reading is called 177 Mental Toughness Secrets of the World Class.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one? No.
My fastest Marathon is 3:18, and I ran a half marathon the day before. I did this with only 4 months of training.

I have swam around the Island of Key West. Did in in 4:56 I think. This was in 2013.

I was one of the recipients of the Kerry O'Brien Coaches Award for United States Masters Swimming in 2014.

I coached a group of kids to become badass little swimmers. For those of you who know age group swimming. I got a few 10&U girls to swim a 1:06 100 fly, a 28.9 50 fly, 5:47 500 free, and a :57 100 free.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach anyone how to swim. If you have a place to learn, I will teach you. If you are a swimmer, parent, or coach, I would love to come visit your team and just observe. I would never coach another coaches swimmer without being asked to or without their permission.

I can also teach you the basic ballroom dances too. I'm not an expert, but I can teach salsa, chacha, and the tango, just to name a few.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What can I share? My experiences, selfies, a beer, a dance, a swim lesson. A great night out, a sarcastic or intelligent conversation. I'm also very low maintenance.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Brazil, Colombia, France, Hungary, Spain
