CURRENT MISSION See the world, do it all, then eat my cake. ABOUT ME I am a 20-something with a job, a dog, a British husband, and insatiable travel envy after living in Europe for a year. I live out my yearn for social justice by working to bring some educational equity to teenagers in cities. I value logic, reason, knowledge, openminded-ness, and self improvement. I love art, music, literature, theatre, and film. I am secure in my beliefs, but I love to learn about and appreciate the perspectives of others. PHILOSOPHY I am a chosen woman, empowering transcendent futures. To me, being chosen means that I choose myself and am chosen by God for a specific purpose. In choosing myself, I have learned to love and accept myself, and by doing so, I can more fully love and accept others for who they are. My purpose is to empower people and myself in transcending the past, pain, prejudice, predictions, and predispositions and become better so that the future will be better.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Currently, I'm mostly surfing, since I live in a dorm and can't host. But I love surfing, and can't wait to be a host once I return home and get a place of my own. I also like having something of a "home" to go to when I travel. It's nice to be able to go somewhere new and be able to go to a CS-meeting or other event. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE So far, I've only surfed in Geneva, Rabat, Edinburgh, Dublin, and Copenhagen. I've loved my experiences and love how meeting CS-ers connects travelers to cities in authentic ways.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love classic literature but also like to read modern YA literature to see what is up and coming. Favorite authors include: Fitzgerald, Steinbeck, Plath, and John Green. I am always interested in independent films, and I love anything and everything by Christopher Nolan. I listen to mainstream music, I listen to the random artists I find. I love to listen to coffee shop artists and see what's cool in terms of local flavor.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
In 2009, I acted in a musical in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA. We had an audience of 36,000 people. On the final night, we had a curtain call and all of the cast and crew came out on stage. There were fireworks and we all sang together, us and the audience. "In that moment, I swear we were infinite."
