About Me

Hi, my name is Riccardo and I'm 20. I live in Rome where I was born and raised. I'm currently attending a BA in Global Governance here in Rome (University of Tor Vergata). The course is entirely in English meaning the environment is very international! I love to do lots of sports, especially running, skiing and mountaineering. I practiced rowing at a professional level for 5 years which taught me to never surrender and work day by day for want I love most. Traveling is my passion and I would like to visit the whole world one day, getting in touch with many people from around the globe. I hope to develop a thorough understanding of all the problems we are living with and to work in an international context, helping developing countries. I also volunteered both here in Rome for the local Caritas (an Italian non profit organization) and in England for an Oxfam shop.
I like very much to be with the people and interacting with everyone sharing ideas and have fun together. I'm a very flexible and open minded person, I have no problem to adapt to any kind of situation, accommodation or life style.
One of my hobbies is cooking, something I've been doing since I was a child. I love theatre, opera and especially cinema. Recently I enjoyed filming and editing short videos either for the University or for personal interests.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe the best part of a journey is to meet new people and make lots of new friends from around the world. So what is it better than Couchsurfing? It gives me the opportunity to get easily in touch with so many people, having fun together for a couple of days and sharing ideas from different prospectives and life styles.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book is probably "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini.
I don't really have favorite movies, though favorite directors such as Wes Anderson, Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am from Italy, Rome, and I enjoy cooking a lot! So the best thing I can share in exchange for the hospitality is a delicious Italian meal!
