About Me

Hi everyone!

My name is Riley and I am from North Carolina. I was recently accepted into a Master's Program through Georgetown University and will be studying in Buenos Aires for the next two years. I know, Georgetown...Buenos Aires? Well, this is a joint program with La Universidad de San Martin so the whole program is in BA.

I decided to apply to this program particularly because it is in South America. I lived in Washington, DC for three years and got my fill of the US perspective on US-LATAM policy issues. Now I want to learn from the South American perspective. Learning through professors from Latin America will help me form a more complete worldview and enable me to question the beliefs that I have formed living in the US most of my life.

I love exploring new cities and the surrounding natural beauty. I'm not much of a club person but am always down to grab a drink at a bar or elsewhere.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Seguing from my 'About Me' portion, I am on couchsurfing to meet people that will help me learn about the rest of the Americas while having a great time. I've done couchsurfing a few times in the past but always with friends and we used joint accounts. Forgive me for my lack of reviews.

I am travelling for about 12 days before arriving in BA. The plan is to go to Santiago, Vina del Mar, Mendoza, Cordoba and Rosario before arriving in BA on March 1 (my birthday!). I have hostels booked in Santiago and Mendoza so far. Whether you can host me or want to meet up for a drink to tell me about your beautiful city, I am game! Once I find a place to live in BA and learn about the city I am totally willing to return the favor!
