ABOUT ME
I guess I could be considered moderate, not politically, but in more general terms. I try my best to find the middle ground and avoid absolutes. However, I won't overthink things and am generally trusting where it makes sense to be. Passing gas and puns still make me laugh. I watch movies in silence. My palette has grown from pb&j's to just about anything. I think meeting new people is simultaneously the most terrifying and awesome feeling. I love mt family, Steinbeck, Weezer and Pitt.
Interests
I row for The University of Pittsburgh. It dominates a large part of my life, but I can no longer imagine doing something else and being satisfied. I'm currently serving as the team's recruitment chair, talking to young college-bound athletes and convincing them to join the crew.
I write, generally fiction, currently working on getting some short stories published. Not shy about sharing or reading. I read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I served as a youth counselor with KEYS Service Corps AmeriCorps last summer. I worked at a local YMCA in a bad part of Pittsburgh with youth, ages 9-15. It was, by far, the most rewarding job I've had. Seeing the area and some of the things that these kids grew up in was shocking sure, but what was amazing was learning that kids are still kids no matter what.
There is one particular rowing race that I remember from my sophomore spring. It wasn't the most competitive event, men's club eight, but it was a win that my team really needed that day. Our stroke pair and coxswain were three seniors and best friends. We finished third, but they thanked us nonetheless for giving them our all and making their last eight-man race a fight.
