My name is Robin Brand, 24 years old and I was living and studying in The Netherlands. When I ended my study in June 2022, started a new period of my life! Living my dream! I call it by myself: Living the Pura Vida!
I was always thinking to explore the world. After a heavy covid19 period was my travel-dream 2 times cancelt.
But... November 2022 my dream came true! I'm very interessed in the different cultures, lifestyles, languages, nature, mountains and all the volcanos. That is the reason i started traveling in november 2022 in Costa Rica. I did a kick-off for to weeks with a friend from The Netherland and we explored Costa Rica. After the 2 weeks it was time to explore Central America by myself.
I like to jump in the local life. Volenteering to learn from the people, culture exchanges, talking to local people, everything to learn how they life and to respect and help them in every posiblilty. That's also the reason I go more often off the 'gringo' route to get new and more special expierince.
I'm now 1 year and 2 weeks on my way in Central-America. Costa Rica ; Nicaragua; Honduras; El Salvador: Guatemala ; Belize : Mexico. The best decision in my life to get this experience!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why i use couchsurfing; I want to have a different expierince than the normal travel expierince with hostels. The variation of meeting people all over the world in hostels and meeting local people is for my the best expierince of traveling. Getting know the real facts, the hidden places, beatifull places and the local expierince. I'm convinced that we can learn more than only the populair route of toeristic route. I believe in learning every day, espacily with traveling!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of nice, creative things! So i read a couple of books about mindset, selfinvesting and inspirtation for your life. I read a lot of books over biograpies from profesional sporters.
I like to watch movies to get i an different world full of inspiration.
2 moths before my traveling I started listening to Reggea and Reggeaton. And i'm still loving that! Nicky Jam, Ozuna, Plan B, Bad Bunny are perfect music for me!
Started with making my own bracelets, and started with sketching. Love to work in a creative way!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumping out of the airplane :) But the amazing choice is to started this journey! What i expirincied the last months is for myself life-changing. I learned so much about myself, the world, the nature, the different cultures, different lifestyles, the local life and many more things. It is for me a dream that came reality. And i'm still living that dream :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach with different people. Everybody can learn something from somebody.
I specileced myself to teach with childern and I like the energy of them! I'm for 1 reason sport-teacher. And that is: I love sports! I know a lot of sports and I like to learn new type of sports.
I like to learn in general.
My favorite sport is football and running. Football ( i played it for 15 years ) and i started 2021 with running. Trackrunning, street running, trailrunning and races. That's a big passion of me :)
I like to try new food, and make somebody happy with a surprise.
