I'm out-going, friendly, considerate, creative, outdoorsy, playful! I'm a 66 year old active and fit woman who is self-employed in the arts and education.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Years ago I joined a similar organization called Woman Welcome Women while traveling and more recently, Servas, as well as couch surfing. With one exception, I've had very positive experiences. I love the idea of meeting locals, seeing a place from that local perspective, as well as welcoming travelers and getting to know people from different backgrounds.

Interests

I love theatre, dance (watching and doing), most things outdoors (hiking, biking, swimming, X-country skiing, etc), travel, music (jazz, bluegrass, folk especially). Not into the bar scene, heavy drinking or drugs, though I do like an occasional glass of wine or drink if eating out.

I love talking with folks and meeting new people - hearing their stories! Have done a fair amount of traveling and think it's a wonderful way to get perspective and really get to know a place and it's people.

BTW, as a guest or host, I can't be in homes with smokers or people and homes with heavy scents (room "fresheners", perfumed laundry detergent, shampoo, etc) - sorry - nothing against smokers or scented folks, just effects me. :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many! Respectfully watched the Hopi Bean Dance (Arizona) and the Pueblo Deer Dance (New Mexico); Climbed Mt Kenya (second highest peak); worked on an historic schooner; witnessed a local Balinese Hindu baby blessing and Wayang Kulit (shadow puppet), helped to prepare the food, carried water from the well on my head, etc; and on and on! Most recently trekked in the Himalayas!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live in the country so I don't get a lot of requests for hosting, but I can show you around or at least tell you where you can hike, bike, swim, x-country ski (there is even a rock climbing place a few monutes from my house). Alternately Northampton, Greenfield and Amherst are all 3--40 minutes away ans Shelburne Falls is 15 minutes from my house.
