Overview
About Me
I've worked in Education all my life, mainly with adolescents in outdoor and environmental, and residential leadership settings. I do a lot of volunteer work in our community. Whilst I love where I live, I'm really happy exploring new places and the outdoors and being active. I love climbing, XC Skiing, mountain Biking, orienteering. Geocaching is a great "distraction" when solo travelling. But, have eclectic interests. Also enjoy meeting people, conversation and debating, and I love books, art and architecture, film and history, and the story behind the story. Polar history and ancient and old civilisations interest me in particular. I play recorder (well, not brilliantly) and look forward to Canberra Folk Festival each year. And I like textiles and knitting!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd like to host people in Harrietville because its unique and one of the loveliest places on earth surrounded by National Parks! And I'd like to meet people in the places I visit to get a sense of life and culture elsewhere. Sharing interests across borders promotes culture and understanding, and is just plain fun.
