Hello there, my name is Roos. I am a 29 year old musician from the Netherlands, currently living in Den Haag. My two key passions in life are to create & to connect. I like variety, so I do this in a couple of ways. I work as a project manager for The Present, an organisation who connects entrepreneurs to social initiatives, mostly focussed on refugees, newcomers & homeless people. I also work as a project manager for De Vrolijkheid; a non-profit organisation providinf art workshops for kids and young adults living in asylum seeker centers. Before this I have also done a lot of volunteering and work with refugees and newcomers (both in the Netherlands and in Greece). As a musician, I spend my time songwriting, co-writing, recording, arranging, mixing, performing, and also working on the business side of being an independent artist. I have two artist projects: Maida Rose & Roos Meijer, who both reflect an important side of myself. My solo project (Roos Meijer) is alt-folk music, focussed on stories of people from all over the world, all linked to societal themes: https://www.byroosmeijer.com/. Maida Rose is my dreampop band with my best friend Javièr, where we focus more on creating a sonic world and which is my autobiographical (and therefor very personal) musical project: https://maidarose.com/. In my free time I love reading, writing, hanging out with friends & family, embroidery, doing and learning other crafts, spending time at the beach or elsewhere in nature, photography and meeting new people.
