Overview
About Me
I am a retired public school teacher. I am quiet and something of an introvert, which probably seems strange for someone joining couch surfing! I am from a large family that hosted 3 international exchange students, and my wife and I have hosted three students ourselves, plus invited a student from the local college to live with us for one and a half years. My parents' motto was, "There are no strangers, only friends we haven't met." I try to live this philosophy.
I tend to be pretty easy going, however I do not like conservative politics. That being said, I can get along with people who are respectful, and I enjoy a respectful exchange of ideas. I'm probably a B+/A- personality.
I have two amazing daughters who are adults and no longer live at home.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My wife and I enjoy the journey as much as the destination, and the people we meet along the way are part of the journey.

Music, Movies, and Books
Lord of the Rings (books and movies), Harry Potter (books), Dresden Files (books), The Dragon Prince (animated show on Netflix), Stardust (movie), RomCom movies, some Bollywood films, I don't read as much as I'd like, and also don't watch a lot of TV/movies.
I like a pretty wide variety of music, but not country-western (except some classics, like Johnny Cash) and not Rap/Hip-Hop, Currently I am listening to New Age (e.g., Kitaro and George Winston), I also like Springsteen, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, classic rock, 80s pop and 80s alt rock (but 90s and 2000s, too), The Offspring, Of Monsters and Men, Cold Play, The Scorpions, Neil Young, Dido, Tracy Chapman, Joan Armatrading, American Folk Music (especially 60s and early 70s), Santana, Pink Floyd, …

Teach, Learn, Share
Always happy to teach Wizard (card game) and cribbage; my wife and I love to hear and tell stories.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My wife and I can engage with hosts and talk, play games, etc., or we can go our own way and do our own thing. We believe that we are good about cleaning up after ourselves!
