Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing to get to know people from different cultures and with other perspectives of the world. I've got an eagerness to learn that is quite insatiable so getting an historical tour around the city would make my day. Also not having to spend money on accommodation is a plus.
Music, Movies, and Books
I want to say something smart like I love reading books by Guy de Maupassant and books by Jane Austen. They are all very good books but nothing gets me going like Harry Potter and Tolkien's written legacy. I like all sorts of music but singing along to Joan Baez/Bob Dylan songs makes me happy.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I lived in France for 2 years and I had this secret field surrounded by blackberry bushes that I would sneak into with a good book and a picnic basket. When I made up my mind to move back to the Netherlands I bought wildflower seeds and planted them in that field. I also installed an insect hotel for all the insects that would be attracted by the newly planted flowers. I never saw the result but the idea that I left something positive and beautiful is a pretty amazing idea to me.

What I Can Share With Hosts
I'm a pretty good chef and I love cleaning. I could probably show my hosts some of our local Frisian/Dutch specialties and not leave a mess in the process. ;)
