About Me
27/11/2018: Going back home for Christmas since Dec. 14th. Feel free to drop your request and I'll see how I can help you in terms of anything. :)
---
Hi there! You can call me Roy and I'm Chinese. :) Now I'm living in Budapest for my 2nd expat year. I love cooking and travelling. :P
My life motto-ish:
是谁来自山川湖海, 却囿于昼夜、厨房与爱。
The man from nowhere is tamed in daily routine, kitchen and love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I got to know this place from my tutor back in college and I just loved the idea of exchanging the personal spaces with stories and laughter the first moment when I heard of it. I didn't host anyone before but I was hosted before. It's an extremely amazing platform where it bridges people together and brings connectivity in real.
Interests
Cooking is definitely the #1 hobby. I love the cooking tutorials from Tasty. And if I get the energy during the weekend, I normally will treat myself with a great meal by giving a try for the recipes from them. I've always wanted to learn the basic bakery skill - bake a cake or some cookies. However, I am still working on finding a great master to guide me as there is a quite huge difference in terms of the accuracy.
Film-watching comes as the 2nd in terms of interests, I suppose. Watching movies is a way of understanding the world and people living in this world. I love putting myself as an outsider in the movie's world. And I love putting myself as the characters in the movie. To be honest, I am not a master of those academic theories, but I simply just love analyzing it after the fin.
Well, maybe travelling chimes in as the third one I want to put it here. No more BS, just love the feeling of putting myself in a totally strange environment.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: As long as they are fitting into the mood - which means I have no special tastes or singers or genres or languages to entitle the throne. :-D
Movies: The Cloud Atlas (My All-time #1), Call me by your name, Toast, Flipped, About time, The way he looks and etc. (You can check my imdb profile here: https://www.imdb.com/user/ur80768301/)
Books: I've finished reading the 2 original storybooks of CMBYN and Love, Simon. Currently, I am waiting for the Boys Erased to be delivered. Oh, by the way, I also love those blogs on the Medium.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Hiked around 10-15KM to the beach in Lagoa, Portugal. :D
- Kept the annual routine of travelling alone to a new place at my birthday in the past 5 years. :)
- Hahaha Lost my wallet while travelling in Thailand with friends (back from the north to the capital). xD
Teach, Learn, Share
Basically, I can teach my mother tongue, and if you are learning English, I can also help you practise English. (Hahaha, my proudest moment of possessing conversational English level as a native Mandarin speaker.)
I seriously want to start learning how to bake things and maybe also your languages/slangs/unique ways of expression and so on. Teach me if you can! :D I can be the best audience!
Sharing is caring. I genuinely hope to share more about me, my country, my travel stories and probably also all the other interesting things happened in the past 2 years of my life in Hungary.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to exchange knowledge about our cultures, so it might be cuisine dishes, pictures, talking about habits and traditions, etc.
