About Me

Sorry we're not accepting guests at present as we are away traveling in Europe again.

My husband and I are keen travelers and now that we've taken recent 'early' retirement from Teaching we have even more time to explore the world. Still lots of places to see on my 'to do' list.
I try to help people on their travels the way I would like someone to help me or my children if we were in the same situation. There is always payback!
We both couch surfed loads when we were younger but things have become so much easier now with mobile phones and internet.
We have two adult children who think they have left home but still seem to spend a lot of time coming home.
Started my travel bug ,camping and sleeping on the beeches of Greece for the summers and then visiting many of the folk I met there. After having children the camping became a lot more organised and we now spend 5-6 weeks every summer seeing new places in France and meeting up with old / new friends.
I love seeing a country as the people who live there do, not from a star hotel. this also gives me and my husband time to sample the local cooking- I was a catering teacher.
We live in a quiet rural area but with excellent access to everywhere.
Looking forward to getting a lot more signatures in my visitors book.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always liked meeting new travelers and showing them the sites. Now I have more time I want to start my traveling again and see places as the locals see them. Looking back I reckon my husband and I have been couch surfing from 1980. After meeting many travelers on our first trips to Greece , we invited them to see our beautiful country and put them up while we showed them about. we then spent our summer ( we were both teachers so had long summer holidays) backpacking and staying with these new friends. Toured around Australia staying with people we'd met, Bali, Slept at the bottom of a garden in Bermuda, had our friendly bar staff from Cyprus back to stay with us, picked up hitchhikers and brought them back to stay and much more. So I guess its time to start again.
