Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a guest:
Honestly, right now i’m like so desperate because i need to find a place to stay tomorrow because hotels and hostels here are either too expensive or fully booked here. So I’m here in the Netherlands for an educational camp for 11 year olds from all over the world. I’m the Egyptian “leader”, meaning that i’m basically legally responsible for 4 Egyptian kids for a whole month; i’m their teacher, mother, best friend, and nanny even. I have been here for 3 weeks, in a cabin in the middle of a forest, with 48 kids everyday and i’ve had zero days off. So the 10th is my day off, me and the Spanish leader, and we NEED to relax and have fun. We need to find a place to crash and maybe good company that could suggest or help us in any way they could in making the best out of our 24 hours of freedom. Help! Lol
As a host:
I am an Arab American living in between both continents/regions right now. You can say i'm used to the American life where you meet people from all over the world and all walks of life in a 30 minute time period while randomly smoking in the streets. I desperately miss that while I am here in Egypt and just am enthusiastic about meeting people that are different from me and I could learn something from them. I would love to take around any visitors and show them our little hidden gems and show them some of the reasons why I fell in love with this country.
