We are a decent couple (Marjolijn) with a 18month daughter (Jelene). She is adorable and we learn her multiple languages and cultures. We have high morals, married for 8 years. Non smoking, we love to drink a glass of wine, responsible. We have a high interest in learning, meeting new, authentic people. My wife and I love to avoid the big crowds and create an unique experience. We love to travel and meet locals, they are according to us the best reference of the country you visit and give you the best "feeling" with the country. We love to explore! Ruben, Marjolyn and their beautiful new baby Jelene are the nicest, most thoughtful, caring and trustworthy people that you could hope for to look after your pets and home. They arrived the evening before our early morning departure for a smooth handover and Ruben even got up at 4.00 am to leave us a delicious fruit salad breakfast! Their communication before and during the stay was excellent. They coped magnificently with our dogs, cat, chickens and peacocks and the house was immaculate on our return....Ruben even did hours of mowing before we got back. We couldn't recommend them more highly and have invited them back anytime to stay as our guests!

This was our first experience of using Trusted House Sitters and with Ruben and Marjolijn we feel that we struck GOLD! Wow, what an amazing couple! From our first conversation with Ruben we trusted them completely and felt we knew them before they arrived in our home to look after our four dogs. Ruben sent us daily updates on their adventures which was very entertaining, and so great to know how our dogs were having a great time. In fact I think that dogs had a better holiday than we did! This couple have bags of energy and enthusiasm, coupled with plenty of common sense. They are warm, kind, sensible, totally reliable and self-sufficient. Before we left Ruben had asked lots of very sensible questions about our home and dogs, it was clear they really cared about looking after our dogs. On our return we were welcomed by a delicious home cooked meal waiting in the fridge, ready to be popped in the oven. The house was spotless, the beds made, clean towels folded, the cushions plumped. Just perfect. We would welcome Ruben and Marjolijn back in our home anytime. And I know our dogs would too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wedding vacation with back pack through Vietnam. this was a trip of about 3 weeks where we only planned our arrival and departure flight and we were just flexible in between, it was an amazing experience, we enjoyed it a lot and was one of our best holidays ever.

We have learned a lot about brain child developement, my wife attended a world renowned brain development course on for early child hood development.
