About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to celebrate life; to work for peace and justice
ABOUT ME
never bored; always busy; lots of friends and lots of things I want to do or achieve before i die.
I write [sometimes] short stories, poems, haiku, plays, screenplays. I recently wrote and directed a short film.
I believe another world, a peaceful, harmonious world, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, a world without hunger war or violence, is both possible and necessary, if we all want it enough. Creativity, openmindedness, tolerance, and a sense of humour are important qualities to me. Dislike wastefulness, cruelty, violence, misuse of environment.
PHILOSOPHY
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Insofar as possible, do no harm to any sentient beings.
What is for you doesn't go around you.
Love all, serve all - all is one.
Live as though you are to die tomorrow; learn as though you are to live forever.
Each of us has a mission in life to discover- or not.
being kind and empathetic to others is one of the most important qualities to develop.
-Hey - I do fall short of all of this!]
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Mostly I invite rugged hardy adventurous souls to come couchsurf, as my 200 yr old house lacks central heating/shower. Recently my partner and I were travelling for three months, so have just returned and need to get everything back in living order. Sorry to any couchsurfers who applied to visit while i was away. will be hosting again soon. all the best, glenda[and peter]
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
have always had a lot of visitors, at times, but also need and enjoy periods of solitude. Have often travelled, had to travel, on a shoestring. Generally met nice people. I have met some wonderful people through couchsurfing. What a great idea!

Music, Movies, and Books
movies: so many! Groundhog Day. Citizen Kane, the Back to the Future trilogy. Basically, I just love movies. I will watch almost any film just to critique or admire how it was made. to list one seems to slight others i just haven't thought of lately, so i hate making lists like this.....I don't ;ile films that feature gore and violence, I think they programme our minds in the wrong way....
music: fairly eclectic tastes.
books: the I Ching/biographies/literary fiction.
I consider cardplaying/most games/loud pubs/nightclubs generally a waste of my precious time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
done: tara rokpa buddhist therapy/training;
Paul Rebillot's training in school of gestalt and experiential teaching; running experiential workshops using drama, mythology and gestalt; giving birth to my only daughter; making my first film. overcoming my fears and doubts and visualising the positive [ a daily task].
seen: Macchu Picchu in Peru. Newgrange and other ancient Irish sites. pictographs on the mesas of Arizona.Experiencing life 'off the grid' in New Mexico. 'better to see one valley with a thousand pairs of eyes, than a thousand valleys with one pair of eyes.'
Teach, Learn, Share
any of the above interests.and more. tend to prefer experiential learning, learning by doing.
