About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live, love, laugh, and travel the planet

ABOUT ME

My kids are grown now and I have some time to travel. I am self-employed, so my time is somewhat flexible--my husband is currently looking for new work, is semi-retired. When I visit a country, I love to get a feel for what it's like to really live there, which is why CS is such a great idea. I heard old folks are also using hostels these days. I love to spend a few days in towns I visit and not rush--sitting and getting to know locals is a treat.

PHILOSOPHY

Live, love and laugh!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to travel in Europe, but also look forward to hosting people who want to visit So California. My town is just north of Los Angeles and 45 miles from LAX--easy driving to Disneyland or Universal Studios. I live 3 miles from Ronald Reagan Library. I do have 2 cats and 3 dogs, so you would be miserable if you have animal allergies!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have had 2 couchsurfers in our home, one from east coast and one from Great Britain. I'd love to have someone from France.

Interests

Traveling, art, hiking, bike riding, computers, reading, getting together with friends (never enough time). I want to learn to dance so I can "dance next to the Seine River" someday!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy both books and movies. I have read "Thousand Suns" and enjoyed "Kite Runner." I love historical fiction books, and want to read about the French Revolution and Marie Antoinette now that I have visited Versailles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in Hawaii as a kid. Dad just moved to Hawaii.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am pretty good at trouble shooting computer problems. I have taken 3 semesters of French--but it is difficult to learn at my age. I have dabbled in painting, and enjoy watercolor the most. I am learning web design.
