About Me

Hey, I’m Said! Originally from Syria, I’ve lived in Turkey and now I’m in England for my master’s degree. I’m a curious, easygoing person who enjoys meeting people from different cultures and sharing stories.

I’m into sustainability, handmade crafts (I run a little ceramics brand!), and exploring new ideas. Fun fact: I started studying medicine for one day before switching to computer engineering—best decision ever!

I love good conversations, learning from others, and maybe teaching you something random about computers (don’t worry, I’ll keep it short). Let’s connect and make some good memories!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m here because I love meeting new people, sharing experiences, and exploring the world from a local’s perspective. Couchsurfing is the perfect way to make genuine connections, swap stories, and maybe even learn something new about each other’s cultures. Plus, it’s a great excuse to step out of my comfort zone and create memories that go beyond the typical tourist experience!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I enjoy a mix of everything, from Arabic classics to modern chill vibes. Anything that tells a story or sets a mood works for me!
Movies: I’m a fan of thought-provoking films and comedies that leave you smiling. Bonus points for documentaries that teach something new or movies with great storytelling like The Pursuit of Happyness or Inception.
Books: I love reading about self-development, sustainability, and history. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is a favorite—simple but inspiring!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped lead the Syria Student Union with over 5,000 university students, creating opportunities for young people to connect, learn, and grow together. It’s been an incredible experience to see the impact of teamwork and community on such a large scale!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you some Arabic phrases, share insights about Middle Eastern culture, or even help with basic coding and tech troubleshooting. If you’re curious about starting a business or leading a team, I’d love to share what I’ve learned from my own experiences.
Learn: I’m always eager to learn about new cultures, traditions, and ways of thinking. Teach me a recipe, a phrase in your language, or a new perspective—I’m all ears!
Share: I’d love to share stories about my journey from Syria to Turkey to England, along with some laughs, good conversations, and maybe even a handmade ceramic souvenir if we really hit it off!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a slice of Middle Eastern culture, including interesting stories about my life and experiences across Syria, Turkey, and England. If you’re into food, I’d love to cook something traditional together or learn your favorite dish!
