One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Completed my AFF course (solo sky diving)
Not so much an amazing I've done but one that I experienced. I stayed in Cantagalo favela in Rio de Janeiro where I helped coach favela kids rugby. I stayed with a guy from Uruguay name Roy who ran the kids rugby program aimed at helping favela kids develop a passion for one thing and steer them away from a life of drugs and gangs which so many kids there get caught up in. Roy was the most generous person I have met. Opened his very small one bedroom home up to me and others sometimes 5 of us sleeping in his room when people needed a place to stay. There was a real sense of community in the favela, the people were some of the poorest and had so little yet at the same time sharing what they had. The kids were genuinely happy all the time and was such an eye opener. Makes you think at how selfish and self centred one can be when you are unhappy about certain things in your life.
So this experience has helped me appreciate every aspect of life. Be happy and try to be as generous as possible
