I'm a sociology researcher so more interested in the everyday lives of people than any touristic sightseeing (though I still enjoy the latter). Really love to meet new people when I'm traveling but I'm not a leech (I know people have lives to live so I'll leave you alone when you're busy, etc.). I am a good cook so would be down to cook you a meal as a thank you for hospitality.
