About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Old mission - backpacking central america. meeting cool people. surfing as much as possible. learning more spanish. and deciding what to do with my life!

New mission- last semester of uni!
ABOUT ME

Ignore my 0% reply rate..I missed heaps of requests when travelling because I was still set to hosting.
I try reply to most requests!

I've just arrived in Denmark for a 6mknth university exchange.

I really like to be in the outdoors and keeping healthy.

My biggest hobby is snowboarding, but I started surfing 2 years ago and whilst I'm still learning I love it and want to get out as much as possible! I like longboarding, hiking etc and stuff that takes me out of my comfort zone.

I'm an easygoing guy, and live and let live. I like interesting people, and those of good character.

I like new places, travelling without much of a plan and seeing where it gets me! Some of my best experiences have come from sleeping rough, hitching etc.

I like to go out, party, have a fun time etc but also like to keep the balance too.

PHILOSOPHY

Can't say I've thought to much about this but I suppose my ultimate goal is aiming towards a state of enjoyment in life whilst it not being at the expense of others. Keeping healthy. Doing your best to help others, not because of karma etc but just because that's how I think things should be done.

Taking the time to enjoy the little things in life as they come along, and sometimes just appreciating the moment ..and at least try not to let bad stuff phase me too much!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Any travellers I can help out along the way I will!

Hosting. I have couchsurfed twice in my travels with two positive experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

4 days staying with hosts in Ensenada, Mexico. Had a good time, and got to experience a lot of stuff I would have missed out on if it wasn't for my hosts!

Highlights were getting to see a different side of the city and culture, skating an abandoned empty swimming pool in the hot sun and of course nightime tequila in downtown!

Lowlight was stepping on a rusty nail barefoot and getting to experience a real mexican hospital!

Also couchsurfed in Salt Lake City for two nights..sure beat the hostel!

Have hosted a few people down here in christchurch which has been fun!

Interests

I like to read a lot.

I like to listen to music, watch trashy tv shows and I'm interested in geography, economics, different countries and places and how things work.

I want to reach a reasonable level of fluency in spanish over the next few years.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read alot and I find it hard to choose a favourite book but the best I've read in a while has been The Wind Up Bird Chronicles by Haruki Murakami.

I like rap music, mainly old-school stuff but a lot of new stuff too. I like listening to new artists from different countries too! But really I listen to a huge variety of music, and it's hard too describe my taste..(probably means it's bad!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been chased by an angry sealion out of the water time and time again!

Teach, Learn, Share

I really want to learn some spanish and improve my surfing.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Philippines, Slovenia, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Denmark, New Zealand, United States
