I’m Samuel, an optometrist, currently a pursuing my Masters in Berlin, and avid traveler from Kenya who believes that the world feels smaller and kinder when we share stories, food, and laughter. I love meeting people from different walks of life, learning how they see the world (literally and figuratively!), and building genuine connections wherever I go. I’m passionate about rugby, digital health, adventure travel, community service and transitioning into digital health management . When I’m not in classes, gym or rugby practice , I’m probably planning the next trip. Instagram&facebook: @The_wandering_wasp|Samuel Mbeche

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I believe travel is not just about places, but about people. Couchsurfing gives me a chance to experience cultures from the inside ,through real conversations, home-cooked meals, and shared moments. I’m here to connect, contribute, and build friendships that go beyond borders.
Music, Movies, and Books
My playlists are a mix of Amapiano, Bongo , house, acapella, flavor, reggae, and Afrobeat ,anything with rhythm and heart. Movies: I love Investigative, action, and feel-good adventures -The Motorcycle Diaries. Books: I enjoy stories of resilience and purpose -Long Walk to Freedom (Mandela) and Man’s Search for Meaning (Viktor Frankl) are my go-tos.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I rode a motorbike across 10 African countries in 22 days to raise awareness about eye health through a campaign called “Eyes for Africa on Two Wheels.” It was life-changing ,I met incredible people, crossed breathtaking landscapes, and saw how kindness transcends language and borders.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can teach basic Swahili, English, eye care tips, and even a few dance moves from Kenya! Learn: I’m always eager to learn new languages, local traditions, cooking styles, and new perspectives on life. Share: I love sharing stories from my travels, African cuisine, and the joy of discovering something new together.
What I Can Share With Hosts
Good company, great stories, and positive energy. I can cook a Kenyan meal (try my chapati and stew!), share travel tips from across Africa, and bring a curious, respectful attitude to your home. I also don’t mind helping out with small tasks or errands ,community is built by doing things together.
My Interests
I’m passionate about healthcare ,travel, community work, and adventure. I love exploring new cultures, sharing ideas over a good meal, and discovering local gems that don’t always make it to guidebooks. I am currently learning the German language .
