Overview
About Me
Hey!
My name is Sarah. I'm originally from Northern California in the middle of the redwood forest, but have been living and breathing in Santa Cruz, Alaska, Idaho, Cairo, Amman, and recently, back to Idaho again.
I've lived a good bit in the middle East, so if you want to speak Arabic, I will be very excited and probably not very good at it.
I recently left a career working in refugee resettlement (which I LOVED) to pursue my teaching credential. My students are a constant source of joy and stress and chaos in my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I am a generally curious and thoughtful person with an affinity for bright colors, dirt, big maps, and unfinished stories. I'm passionate about education, vegetables, puppies and human rights. I love to play and explore and make messes, whether I'm cooking, painting, building, planting, etc. I'm always looking for new things to be grateful for, and reasons to be joyful.
Yalla!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined couch surfing while working and wandering my way through South Eastern Alaska in Spring of 2017. I love traveling, and the perspective and depth that meeting locals gives to a place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It feels pretty amazing that I got out of bed and went to work this morning at 7AM.
Teach, Learn, Share
Did you know that an otter's fur is so dense, that one inch of otter skin has as many hairs as the body of a whole housecat?
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can weed your garden or paint your fence or feed your chickens or at least write you a nice thank you note.
I have stories and can tell jokes and sing off key. I will make you breakfast and be nice to your dogs.
