Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Sarah!
I'm Australian born and bred! I grew up in country Victoria riding horses, hiking, working in garden and learning to be an excellent cook with a passion for home grown produce and wine!
I moved to Melbourne to study at Monash University and am currently in my final year of study. I value community and being involved in the world around me. In the past I've worked in workplace consultancy, law firms, student unions, for not-for-profits, community legal centres, childcare and hospitality. I frequently volunteer my time at community legal centres providing free advice to those who cannot afford lawyers.
I really love to spend as much time as I can in the outdoors and being active. I love camping, hiking, cooking, walks on the beach and days where I get to see both the sunrise and sunset.
I have spent 2 months living in Africa in 2017, undertaking internships in human rights organisations. In 2018 I am taking a break from study to go travelling! My plan is to visit South America (February, March), Mexico ( April) and Europe (May - December)!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm interested to meet people and share stories from around the world! Also to learn about local food, recipes and home cooking. Having a couch to sleep on is an added bonus!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: folk, alternative, some pop (for dancing), blues, jazz...basically a bit of anything and everything!
I love books and movies about people's lives and historical events. I think learning from experience is the only way that the world can be slowly moulded into a better place.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
hmmmm.... probably spending a month travelling the coast of antarctica on a Russian icebreaker. It was so much fun and a real adventure!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love asking questions and getting to know how other communities live, traditions, especially with food and holidays.
One day I hope to write a book on breads around the world. Every culture and community has some version of bread! Breaking bread over a home cooked meal is my version of heaven on earth!
