A long time floater of cities, I'm back in my native bay area. Meeting new people and experiencing new cultures and places is what its all about really, and I'm always looking to make a new friend- especially since as yet I don't have many living around here! I'm loving getting reacquainted with the area, and at the moment I'm navigating the crazy world of start-ups and freelance work rather than doing much by way of world travel. That said, I've lived in England for most of my adult life (with a brief stint in Scotland) with some other pitstops along the way, and I've loved being able to roam around Europe. Still though, trying to settle down a bit and make a go of things out here, which brings me to:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Having been drifting about the place for so long I'm now trying to establish a toe-hold back on the west coast, and I'm couch surfing until I can move into my new apartment at the end of the month. That's the nitty gritty of it, but almost more important than a place to hang out for a bit is that I want to meet some local folks and make some friends. Its weird being from here, but not really knowing anyone here. And not a good weird either.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- lots and lots of stuff, I studied sound design primarily and lots of exposure means a weird appreciation for things like swing and rag-time, but the stuff usually coming out of my headphones is something like EDM or classic rock.
Movies- mostly dramas. I like humans!
Books- dune, house of leaves, the goneaway world, the magus, and on and on :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driven many times across the united states by myself...? I suppose given the times we live in its either 'dangerous' and 'not to be undertaken lightly' for a lone woman (comic book hero? punk rock band name?) to do such things, or 'totally within her rights as a liberated individual' or possibly a bit of both. Conversations, let's have them!
